6th, 7th & 8th Grade: Realistic Portraits

All of Carmel's Visual Arts students created Realistic portraits, either of themselves, or of close friends or family. This unit included the study of Realism as an art movement, as well as the nuances of portraiture and the proportions of the face. Students also reviewed the Elements of Art value and form in this project, using value to create the illusion of realistic form in their subjects' faces.
