7th Grade: Surrealist Artwork

Carmel's 7th Graders studied the art movement known as Surrealism and created Surrealist works of their own. With the artwork of Salvador Dali and other, more contemporary Surrealist artists to inspire them, students created works bizarre and fantastical, some terrifying and some lovely. Students also studied the Principle of Design Rhythm during this unit, and included this Principle in their artwork by using repeated elements of art such as lines, shapes, or forms.
